Cross-border processing
AI inference happens within Anthropic's infrastructure. The clauses sent for inference are minimised, and no document content is retained beyond the response.
WHY IT MATTERS
APP 8, in practice.
Australian Privacy Principle 8 governs cross-border disclosure of personal information. For licensed financial services firms, the practical question is: where is my client's information being processed, and what protections apply there?
For document storage and analysis, the answer for Unrisq is: Australia. End to end. Documents at rest, derived analyses, audit logs, backups.
For AI inference, narrowed clauses are sent to Anthropic's infrastructure under contractual protections that match or exceed the Australian baseline. The inputs are not retained for training, and only the minimum context needed for the answer is transmitted.
WHAT WE TELL YOUR DPO
The DPO version.
- Hosting region: AWS ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) for all primary data.
- Backups: in-region only, encrypted at rest with rotating keys.
- Inference sub-processor: Anthropic, US-based, under enterprise agreement. Inputs not retained.
- Data subject rights (access, deletion, portability): supported via account controls and on request.
- Breach notification: aligned with OAIC notifiable data breach scheme timelines.
